Jacaranda FM is thrilled to announce the appointment of Karabo Peter as the new sports presenter for its award-winning afternoon drive show ‘The Drive with Rob & Roz’.

Karabo will join Rozanne McKenzie and Rob Forbes on the popular drive show every weekday between 16:00 and 19:00, with her first broadcast set for Monday, 3 August 2026.

With a background spanning broadcasting, journalism and digital media, Karabo has built her career at the intersection of sport and storytelling. She began her broadcasting journey in community radio as a sports reporter before freelancing for YFM and later joining VOW 88.1 as a sports anchor on the station’s drive show where she stayed for two years. Her experience also includes professional voice work and contributing to SABC’s The Journos Vodcast, where she has participated in discussions around the world of sport and journalism.

Karabo also writes for popular good news publication Good Things Guy, bringing her storytelling skills to stories that highlight positive change and the people making a difference.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Jacaranda FM’s The Drive with Rob and Roz. What drew me to the station isn’t just its reputation as South Africa’s number one feel-good station, but its genuine commitment to making a difference beyond the airwaves,” Karabo says. “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about telling stories that inspire, celebrate communities and highlight the good happening around us, so joining a team that shares those values feels like a natural fit.”

Karabo adds “It’s also an honour to become part of an award-winning show, and it’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for sport and storytelling to listeners while also learning from some of the country’s best broadcasters. I can’t wait to grow, contribute and be part of a team that truly makes people feel good every day.”

Ravi Naidoo, Programme Manager at Jacaranda FM, says Karabo’s appointment reflects the station’s commitment to identifying and nurturing the next generation of South African broadcasting talent.

“Karabo is a talented young broadcaster who brings energy, curiosity and a genuine passion for sport to the microphone. We believe in creating opportunities for emerging voices to grow alongside some of the industry’s most experienced talent, and Karabo is a great example of the kind of broadcaster we want to nurture and develop,” says Naidoo. “She has a natural ability to tell stories and connect with people, and we know she will bring a fresh perspective to our sports coverage while fitting seamlessly into the feel-good energy of The Drive with Rob & Roz. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her career and look forward to introducing her to our listeners.”

Listeners can catch Karabo Peter on The Drive with Rob & Roz, weekdays from 16:00 to 19:00 on Jacaranda FM, starting Monday, 3 August 2026.
