Kia South Africa is proud to announce a double win at the prestigious CAR Magazine Top 12 Best Buys 2026 awards, with the Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos each taking top honours in their respective categories.

The awards are highly regarded within the industry, with all vehicles thoroughly tested and driven by the CAR editorial team. Importantly, entire model ranges, not just individual derivatives, are assessed across a variety of criteria, including packaging, personality, performance, specification, price, and aftersales support. Road tests and launch experiences over the year also form part of the evaluation process.

In the highly competitive crossover segments, where value, practicality, and features are key, the Kia Sonet was named Budget Crossover winner. Competing in a crowded field, the Sonet retains its title for a second time, reaffirming its strong appeal and exceptional value proposition.

The Kia Seltos secured top honours in the Compact Crossover category. Judges highlighted its combination of practical packaging, refined styling, responsive performance, and impressive fuel efficiency, all offered at a compelling price point.

Commenting on these wins, Paul Turnbull, CEO of Kia South Africa, said:
“Following the Seltos’ win in last year’s SUV shootout, we are incredibly proud to once again be recognised in this competitive segment.

Being a winner in two different categories reflects our commitment to delivering vehicles that offer outstanding value, design, and everyday usability to our customers.”

These accolades further reinforce Kia South Africa’s position as a brand that continues to deliver across key segments, meeting the evolving needs of local motorists.
