    Road closures ahead of BRICS Summit

    The 15th Summit of BRICS nations will be hosted by South Africa.

    1. The summit will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
    2. Road closures will be implemented near the convention centre from 20 August 2023 until 26 August 2023.
    3. Maude Street will have one-way traffic from 5th Street to West Street.
    4. The lanes closest to the convention centre on West Street, Alice Lane, and 5th Street will be closed, while the lanes furthest away will remain open for traffic.
    5. Motorists are advised to be aware of the impact on routes during the summit and follow traffic updates.
    6. The Gauteng Police Board Initiative has stated that there will be a significant security presence around the Sandton CBD for the duration of the summit.
    7. The BRICS Summit involves the countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
    8. The summit at the Sandton Convention Centre will take place from 22 to 24 August.
