Presidency reveals another roadmap to end load shedding

    June 10, 2023By Staff Writer
    Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni

The South African Presidency has revealed a roadmap for ending load shedding, the rolling blackouts that have plagued the country’s electricity supply for years.

    1. The roadmap includes a range of measures, from increasing the use of renewable energy to improving the efficiency of existing power plants.
    2. One of the more unusual measures involves the exploration of extraterrestrial technology to boost the country’s energy supply.
    3. The Presidency has formed a task team to investigate the potential of harnessing energy from sources such as solar storms and space-based solar power.
    4. The roadmap also includes plans to invest in battery storage technology and expand the use of gas-fired power plants.
    5. The Presidency has emphasized the importance of ending load shedding to support economic growth and improve the quality of life for South Africans.
