    February 29, 2024By Staff Writer
Professor Malesela John Lamola - SAA CEO

South African Airways (SAA) has resumed direct flights to Perth, Australia after a three-year break.

    1. Bookings are open, and the inaugural flight is scheduled for April 28, 2024.
    2. Outbound flights from Johannesburg to Perth will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, while return flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
    3. The cheapest fares for the inaugural flight start at R11,671.30 for outbound and R10,220.00 for return.
    4. SAA will initially use an Airbus A340-300 with a total capacity of 253 passengers for the Perth route.
    5. The reopening of the Joburg-to-Perth route follows the recent relaunch of the Sao Paulo, Brazil route.
    6. SAA plans to expand to over 20 new destinations in 2024 as part of its strategic growth plans.
