Enza Capital, a pan-African venture capital firm, has successfully closed its Fund II, securing an impressive $58 million in funding. The firm, based in Kenya, focuses on backing technology-driven startups across Africa that aim to solve significant challenges on the continent.

    1. Since its establishment in 2019, Enza Capital has been actively investing in African technology companies at various stages, from pre-seed to Series B. With Fund II, the firm aims to continue supporting high-growth startups that are driving the transition from offline to online and digitizing key sectors in Africa.
    2. In addition to the funding announcement, Enza Capital has introduced its Founder Partner program. This unique initiative allows the leadership teams of portfolio companies to become co-owners of Enza Capital and share in the firm’s success. This shared ownership model fosters collaboration and alignment, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
    3. Enza Capital’s Managing Partner, Mike Mompi, expressed the firm’s commitment to long-term partnerships in Africa’s dynamic and rapidly growing tech ecosystem. The funding will enable Enza Capital to further strengthen its foothold in supporting African entrepreneurs and contribute to the continent’s transformation.
    4. The portfolio companies of Enza Capital are at the forefront of reshaping Africans’ lives, work, and businesses. These technology-driven enterprises are playing a pivotal role in empowering Africans and driving the continent’s economic development.
    5. The Founder Partner program reflects Enza Capital’s belief in shared ownership and its understanding of the challenges faced by leadership teams. By extending ownership to these teams, the firm aims to enhance collaboration and increase the overall success rate of its investments.
    6. Enza Capital’s successful fundraising and the launch of the Founder Partner program demonstrate the firm’s innovative approach to venture capital in Africa. By combining financial support with shared ownership, Enza Capital aims to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem that drives sustainable growth and transformation across the continent’s tech sector.
