Nestlé KitKat, a brand synonymous with taking a break, has recently launched the ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’, a refreshing digital content series that gives South Africans a lighthearted escape from their daily routine. In collaboration with some of the country’s most engaging content creators, this series reimagines the news format, delivering comedic takes on current events to provide audiences with an entertaining respite as they scroll through TikTok and Instagram.

“The ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’ aims to bring laughter to South Africans during a time when humour is the perfect antidote to a fast-paced, sometimes stressful world. The series will feature 3-minute reels on TikTok, with each episode packed with satire and feel-good moments. In true Nestlé KitKat fashion, the content will remind consumers to have fun breaks whilst helping them find fun in the ordinary” mentions Kina Mkize, Senior Brand Manager for Nestlé KitKat, East & Southern Africa (ESAR).

Behind the ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’ stands a stellar lineup of South Africa’s most sought-after comedic talent. These dynamic personalities will bring their unique wit and charm to transform everyday news segments into must-watch entertainment:

The ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’ marks the latest chapter in Nestlé KitKat’s ‘For Fun’s Sake’ campaign, which has already gained a strong following for its playful tone and engaging messaging. The digital-first approach aligns with Nestlé KitKat’s strategy to connect with younger, social media-savvy audiences who are always on the lookout for snackable, entertaining content.

“We wanted to create a campaign that resonates with the times we’re living in. Life can feel a little too serious these days, and we know our consumers are constantly seeking fun moments that give them a break from the everyday hustle. The ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’ is our way of injecting fun into news, into conversations, and ultimately into people’s lives,” adds Mkize.

KitKat invites all South Africans to tune into the ‘For Fun’s Sake News Show’ by following @kitkat_sa on TikTok, @kitkatsouthafrica on Instagram and @nestlekitkat1044 on Youtube, where they can enjoy weekly episodes of the show.
