Old Mutual Limited and Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited (OMLACSA) have announced the appointment of Ranen Thakurdin as Group Chief Financial Officer designate, effective 1 January 2027, the company said.
Thakurdin will succeed Casper Troskie as Group CFO, subject to regulatory approval. To ensure a smooth handover, he will work alongside Troskie before formally taking up the role on 1 April 2027. Troskie will retire on 30 April 2027, as previously announced by the group.
Thakurdin currently serves as Group Chief Risk Officer at Old Mutual and has held several senior leadership positions across the group’s finance and risk functions over the past eight years.
“We thank Casper for his outstanding contribution to Old Mutual and wish him every success in his retirement,” the group said in a statement. “We also congratulate Ranen on his appointment and look forward to his continued contribution to the group’s growth and success.”
Old Mutual said the recruitment process to fill the Group Chief Risk Officer role, vacated by Thakurdin’s move, is currently underway and further details will be communicated in due course.
