Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA) has announced a leadership transition within the FUSO Trucks business, confirming the appointment of Mpho Matseba as Head of FUSO Trucks Southern Africa, effective 1 April 2026.

Mpho steps into the role following her successful tenure as Head of FUSO Sales, a position she held from August 2024 to March 2026. During this period, she played a key role in strengthening FUSO’s commercial performance, deepening customer and dealer relationships, and reinforcing a strong customer-centric approach across the Southern African market.

In her new role, Mpho will assume full responsibility for leading the hundred percent dedicated FUSO Trucks division locally. Her scope includes overall strategy, sales and marketing operations, customer experience, parts and after-sales support, supply chain management along with the complete value chain offering. She will continue to drive sustainable growth for the FUSO brand under the DTSA umbrella.

Mpho brings extensive experience and deep market knowledge to the position, having worked closely with customers, dealers, and internal teams across both the FUSO and broader Daimler Truck business with a career journey spanning 21 years with the organisation. Her leadership is founded on a strong focus on operational excellence, partnership-driven growth, and the delivery of long-term customer value.

This appointment comes at a time of global evolution for the FUSO brand. Effective 1 April 2026, Daimler Truck AG and Toyota Motor Corporation will integrate Hino Motors, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation under a newly established holding company, ARCHION Group.

Despite this global development, DTSA confirms that FUSO remains an integral part of Daimler Truck Southern Africa. There are no changes to local operations, dealer networks, or after-sales support. Business continues as usual in South Africa and cross-border markets, with customers benefiting from the same trusted teams, systems, and support structures.

Commenting on her appointment, Mpho Matseba said:

“I am honoured to be entrusted with the role of Head of FUSO Trucks Southern Africa and grateful for the opportunity to lead a brand with such a strong legacy in both the local and cross-border markets. Having worked closely with our customers and dealer network in my previous role, I look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to drive a customer-first approach as we move forward. FUSO remains a key part of DTSA, and our commitment to our customers in Southern Africa remains unwavering.”

Welcoming the appointment, Maretha Gerber, President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa, commented:

“Mpho has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, deep commercial insight, and a clear commitment to our customers-first in her role as Head of Marketing and most recently as Head of FUSO Sales. Her appointment ensures continuity and stability for the FUSO business in Southern Africa, while positioning the brand for sustained success under the DTSA umbrella. We are exceptionally proud of her decision to take on this role as we enter a new chapter for FUSO Trucks in the region.”

DTSA remains firmly committed to delivering reliable, robust transport solutions and to fostering long-term partnerships with customers across Southern Africa. The appointment of Mpho Matseba further reinforces DTSA’s focus on leadership continuity, operational stability, and customer confidence during a period of global change for the FUSO brand.
