Metrobus, Johannesburg’s primary municipal bus service provider, has opened applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) — a senior management role based at its head office in Braamfontein. The position offers a total cost-to-company package ranging between R1.7 million and R2.43 million, depending on qualifications and experience.

The CFO will serve as the strategic financial leader of the organisation, ensuring compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and other key frameworks. Reporting to the Managing Director and the Board, the successful candidate will provide guidance on budgeting, financial planning, and risk management, while strengthening accountability and supporting Metrobus’s broader service delivery goals.

Applicants must hold at least a B-degree in Accounting or Finance (NQF Level 8), with a CA(SA), CIMA or ACCA qualification regarded as a strong advantage. A minimum of ten years’ experience in financial management is required, including at least five years at a senior level, preferably within the public transport, infrastructure, or municipal services sectors.

The role demands a visionary leader capable of driving financial turnaround initiatives, promoting transparency in supply chain management, and enhancing governance. Key responsibilities include long-term financial strategy development, compliance with GRAP and Treasury reporting standards, and ensuring effective fraud prevention and internal control systems.

Metrobus encourages suitably qualified candidates — especially those who can contribute to the company’s employment equity objectives — to apply. All applications must be submitted online via Dalitso HR by Wednesday, 19 November 2025 at 16:00.

Enquiries can be directed to Mr. E. Geldenhuys at (011) 883 5035 or via email at eugene@dalitso.com
