Nedbank is looking for a Financial Analyst to generate, analyse, and report reliable financial and non-financial information that supports business decision-making in alignment with the bank’s strategic goals. The role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing financial performance and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will forecast and predict monthly financial outcomes by analysing trends and cost drivers, preparing monthly flash reports, and conducting variance analyses to compare performance against budget figures. They will be responsible for providing formal commentary on financial insights and preparing ad hoc reports by gathering and interpreting data from multiple sources.

Additionally, the role includes forecasting annual staff costs, managing the budget for footprint roll-outs, and conducting comprehensive financial planning processes, which encompass annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Training and upskilling stakeholders in financial management is a key component, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills.

The Financial Analyst will also engage with stakeholders to align the regional strategy with the bank’s overall objectives. Preparing and presenting the monthly Opcom pack to the Regional Management Committee and Exco Team for Quarterly Business Reviews will be part of the responsibilities. Ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines and compliance with policies will also be crucial.

Candidates should possess an advanced diploma or national first degree, with a preferred qualification of a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in financial management, particularly within the financial services sector, is required. Proficiency in advanced Excel, Power BI, and SAP tools will be essential.

Key skills include strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and the capability to manage budgets and forecasts effectively. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a commitment to building customer loyalty, making informed decisions, and maintaining quality orientation in all tasks.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Nedbank’s strategic objectives while enhancing personal and professional growth within the financial management arena. If you are ready to make a significant impact, consider applying for this position.
