    Main Purpose Of The Role

    The primary goal for this position is to inform and drive the Product Development strategy for the Capitec Insurance Division. The successful candidate will lead the creation, development, and upkeep of profitable life insurance products that align with the company’s growth strategy and deliver real value to clients.

    The role will also focus on differentiating Capitec’s product offerings through innovative strategies, including pricing and client experience initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include developing and implementing the insurance product strategy, managing the product roadmap, and ensuring alignment across various departments. The role requires building relationships with executive team members, overseeing budget approvals, and fostering commercial partnerships.

    Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for analysing client insights, managing a high-performing team, and ensuring the successful execution of product development and management processes.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will be a qualified actuary with at least 10 years of industry experience across various roles in life insurance. They should possess strong expertise in product design, marketing, and client experience, as well as experience in data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.

    Proven leadership skills, experience managing reinsurer relationships, and the ability to influence decisions are essential for success in this role. A minimum of an Honours Degree is required, along with extensive knowledge of the life insurance industry and its legislative framework.

    Conditions Of Employment

    Candidates must have a clear criminal and credit record. Capitec is seeking individuals who can strategically and tactically drive exceptional results. Those who are emotionally connected to the business and understand its culture are particularly encouraged to apply.
