Nedbank is seeking a Head of Infrastructure Finance for its Johannesburg office. This pivotal role involves overseeing the financial management and strategic planning of infrastructure deals within South Africa, contributing significantly to the growth and financial health of the investment banking franchise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating sustainable earnings while managing risk-adjusted returns by conducting infrastructure deals and optimising efficiency ratios to reduce the cost-to-income ratio. Building networks and enhancing the brand will be key to growing market share and originating transactions.

A focus on strategic alignment is essential, ensuring that business objectives are met by synchronising risk-taking activities with the bank’s risk appetite. The Head of Infrastructure Finance will monitor market trends, respond to client needs, and foster profitability by retaining clients and supporting cross-selling initiatives.

Key responsibilities include delivering quality structured infrastructure solutions, maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, and participating in industry forums to contribute to market evolution and standards. The role also entails developing an integrated strategic business plan, managing portfolio risk, and ensuring compliance with credit policies.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an investment banking environment, including 3-5 years in a leadership role within a specialised finance sector. A professional qualification such as CA(SA) or CFA, along with a relevant postgraduate degree, is preferred.

Candidates should exhibit strong competencies in coaching, entrepreneurship, and operational decision-making, along with a focus on customer service. This role offers an opportunity to build a high-performance team, drive strategic initiatives, and contribute to the bank’s leadership agenda.

If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge, please reach out to the Nedbank Recruiting Team at +27 860 555 566. Activate job alerts to stay updated on new openings.
