    Tshepo Kgobe appointed as new CEO of Gautrain management agency

    Tshepo Kgobe named as the next CEO. Tshepo Kgobe has been announced as the incoming CEO of the Gautrain Management Agency (GMA), succeeding William Dachs. Kgobe brings a wealth of engineering and project management experience to the role.

    1. Diverse technical expertise: Kgobe is an engineer with diverse technical expertise in infrastructure, energy, mining, and the railway environment. He played a crucial role in the initial phases of the Gautrain project, overseeing the engineering and project management of the trackwork subsystem.
    2. Strong leadership qualities: Gauteng MEC for Transport and Logistics, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, expressed confidence in Kgobe’s leadership abilities and believes he will guide the GMA to new heights while upholding the agency’s standards of excellence, innovation, and good governance.
    3. Acknowledgment of William Dachs: Dachs, the outgoing CEO, was acknowledged for his unwavering commitment to excellence. He successfully steered the agency through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and played a pivotal role in the post-lockdown train ridership recovery.
    4. New board members appointed: The GMA also welcomed the appointment of new board members, effective from January 1, 2024. The board will be chaired by Mfanelo Patrick Ntsobi, and other members include Malebo Matolong, Tebogo Nancy Seale, Lungile Mtiya, Mamela Luthuli, Desmond Khalid Golding, Kgotso Maja, Irvin Bafana Sibisi, and Bongisizwe Mpondo.
    5. Continuity and stability: With the appointment of Kgobe and the new board members, the GMA aims to ensure continuity, stability, and continued provision of world-class service in the Gautrain system.
    6. Commitment to excellence and innovation: The GMA remains committed to maintaining its high standards of excellence, embracing innovation, and delivering efficient and reliable transport services to the residents and commuters of Gauteng, South Africa.
