    VW appoints new SA head

    Niels Wichmann brings a wealth of experience in sales and product marketing to Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA).

    1. He has held various management positions in sales within Volkswagen, including a global assignment in Brazil.
    2. Wichmann was the head of product marketing for small/compact cars including the Polo at Volkswagen’s headquarters in Wolfsburg.
    3. He replaces Steffen Knapp, who has been appointed as the brand head of Volkswagen Taiwan.
    4. His appointment comes at a time when Volkswagen is faced with tough competition in the local market.
    5. Wichmann’s experience will help Volkswagen to move the brand to the next level.
    6. He will also play an important role in Volkswagen’s growth strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    7. Volkswagen is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world and has a significant presence in South Africa.
    8. Overall, the appointment of Niels Wichmann is a positive development for Volkswagen Group South Africa, as he brings a wealth of experience and is expected to help the company grow and compete in the local market.
