    How President Ramaphosa’s visit to DRC will strengthen business ties

    President Ramaphosa embarks on a working visit to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) at the invitation of President Félix Tshisekedi.

    1. The visit includes co-chairing the Heads of State and Government segment of the 12th Session of DRC–South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC).
    2. The BNC consists of senior official and ministerial sectoral meetings, focusing on political, economic, and regional matters.
    3. Four sectoral committees are established, covering Political and Governance, Defence and Security, Economy, Finance and Infrastructure, and Social and Humanitarian sectors.
    4. The visit facilitates discussions on bilateral issues and regional, continental, and international concerns.
    5. The Business Forum held on the margins of the BNC offers trade and investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, energy, health, and mining.
    6. Ministers from various key portfolios accompany President Ramaphosa to support the discussions and collaborations.
    7. The working visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore mutually beneficial partnerships between South Africa and DRC.
