Tsholofelo Jansen, founder and CEO of Khutsho Solutions, is building a steel fabrication business in Mothibistad, Kuruman, providing customised solutions for the mining, construction, agriculture and automotive sectors.

The company’s work connects technical craftsmanship with practical industry needs, from fabricating vehicle components to manufacturing livestock handling facilities and steel structures. Its services include cutting, bending, welding and assembly, alongside structural refurbishment and spray-painting.

For farmers, these services support agricultural infrastructure and livestock handling. For construction and mining clients, the company provides fabrication and repair solutions tailored to project and operational requirements. Automotive services include the fabrication and modification of tow bars, bull bars, side steps and other steel components.

Jansen’s entrepreneurial journey combines project management training with business development support. She holds a Certificate in Project Management and has participated in business incubation with Raizcorp and mentorship through TEG, sponsored by Assmang Khumani Mine. Her training also covers leadership and management, costing and pricing, Sage computing and financial management.

Supporting the business is a team with expertise in civil and structural engineering, fitting and machining, welding and steel fixing. This combination of business management and technical skills enables Khutsho Solutions to develop solutions according to client specifications.

The company’s stated vision is to transform steel into structures that build communities and support industrial progress. Its approach focuses on durable, functional products that respond to the needs of businesses and individuals.

As a woman leading a steel fabrication business outside a major metropolitan centre, Jansen’s story provides a practical perspective on entrepreneurship in technical industries. It offers a starting point for conversations about business development, skilled trades and the participation of smaller enterprises in industrial markets.

Through Khutsho Solutions, Jansen brings together technical expertise, customer-specific fabrication and the business skills needed to build an industrial enterprise in the Northern Cape.
