This year marks a proud milestone for Proconics as we celebrate 30 years of engineering excellence, innovation, and partnership. From humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in the South African engineering landscape, Proconics’ story is one of resilience, growth, and purpose.

A Journey That Began in 1995

Proconics was established in 1995, born from a vision to create a locally rooted engineering company capable of delivering world-class solutions across the energy and industrial sectors. What began as a small, dedicated team has grown into a national organization with operations across South Africa and projects extending beyond our borders.

Over the years, Proconics has evolved from providing niche engineering design services to becoming a multidisciplinary engineering projects company, known for its expertise in electrical, control, instrumentation, mechanical, process, and civil engineering. Our adaptability and commitment to solving complex industrial challenges have positioned us as a partner of choice for clients in energy, oil and gas, renewables, and infrastructure.

    30 years of achievements

In three decades, Proconics has built a legacy defined by innovation, safety, and people. Among our many milestones are:

    • Successful execution of hundreds of engineering projects across South Africa and internationally.
    • Establishment of five regional offices, enabling proximity to clients and communities.
    • Growth of our workforce to include diverse, skilled professionals, many of whom have built their careers within the company.
    • The formation of ProGroup, expanding our capacity through specialized entities like ProGO, ProRisk Proconics International, Proconics NewFields and ProAdvise

    A year of celebration

The 30-year celebration has been marked by moments of reflection and recognition — from leadership messages and storytelling to a memorable conference and gala dinner.

Over 450 Proconics employees from across the country attended the conference and gala, held at Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre on Friday, 17 October. The conference featured insightful presentations from both internal and external speakers, sparking meaningful discussions about Proconics’ future direction and opportunities for innovation.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Mteto Nyati, Chairman of Eskom, delivered a powerful address that challenged us to lead with purpose — to remain values-driven and courageous as we shape South Africa’s energy landscape. Mr. Stuart, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hitachi, also shared an engaging perspective on the evolving industrial environment and the importance of strategic partnerships and collaboration in driving progress.

The gala dinner, held that same evening, saw staff dressed in their finest attire for a night of celebration. The event was filled with joy, laughter, and reflection, honouring employee achievements and celebrating the Proconics journey over the past 30 years.

    Looking ahead

As we celebrate 30 years of success, we also look to the future with renewed ambition. Proconics remains committed to being a trusted partner in South Africa’s energy transition, leading with integrity, innovation, and the same pioneering spirit that defined our beginning in 1995.

Here’s to 30 years of Engineering Excellence – and to the many milestones still to come.
