    SAB calls innovators to apply

    Applications are now open for the annual SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards and Disability Empowerment Awards.

    1. Prizes range from R300,000 to R1.3 million in funding, along with valuable business skills development, coaching, mentorship, and technical support.
    2. The awards are open to entrepreneurs with innovative solutions that address social issues faced by underserved communities or enhance economic access and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
    3. The Social Innovation Awards target innovators, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises with prototypes or early-stage businesses that can tackle social problems in new or innovative ways.
    4. The Disability Empowerment Awards recognize entrepreneurs or social enterprises that have developed innovations improving access to the economy and/or providing solutions for persons living with disabilities.
    5. Previous winners have addressed diverse sectors such as health, housing, education, rural livelihoods, energy, water, and financial inclusion, directly benefiting low-income women, youth, or rural residents.
    6. Since the inception of the awards, close to R110 million has been invested, empowering 174 entrepreneurs, creating 1,577 jobs, and positively impacting 9,940 livelihoods.
