Ford South Africa is set to thrill Mustang enthusiasts with a double launch: the seventh-generation Mustang GT and the all-new Dark Horse variant. The Dark Horse, priced at R1.5 million, comes in R200,000 higher than the standard GT, offering the most powerful normally aspirated engine in Mustang history.
Equipped with a modified 5.0-litre V8, the Dark Horse generates 334 kW and 540 Nm of torque, surpassing the GT by 6 kW. While it’s been detuned for some markets, the US version boasts an impressive 372 kW. This powerhouse is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.
Designed for track enthusiasts, the Dark Horse features enhanced chassis tuning, larger rear sway bars, and MagneRide shocks that adapt to road conditions 1,000 times per second. It also includes advanced 19-inch Brembo front brakes for optimal stopping power.
Visually, the Dark Horse stands out with a unique front bumper, gloss black grille, and aggressive rear wing. Inside, drivers can enjoy a dedicated drive mode button, a customizable 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, and a premium 12-speaker B&O audio system. With distinctive blue stitching and sleek Black Alley finishes, the Dark Horse promises a thrilling driving experience both on the road and the track.
